LECTURE 1 : DEFINITION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

What is the Sustainable Development Goals?







The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals which contains 17 goals to ensure that all people can live in peace and harmony by 2030.

Adopted by 193 countries in 2015, the 17 goals measure our collective progress against the world's most pressing challenges. They are an urgent call for action for public, private, and social sectors, to come together in global partnership.

Sustainable Development is development needed in order to meet the need of the surrounding. The goals are divided into 4 categories which are; social, economic, environmental and inclusive Dev. & MOI. These goals are created to make sure the livings on the earth will not suffer in the future. Human are the most responsible to make sure these goals achieved. Its because whatever we do today, affect largely on our environment.



What are the 17 Goals of Sustainable Developments?


The 17 SDGs are: (1) No Poverty, (2) Zero Hunger, (3) Good Health and Well-being, (4) Quality Education, (5) Gender Equality, (6) Clean Water and Sanitation, (7) Affordable and Clean Energy, (8) Decent Work and Economic Growth, (9) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, (10) Reducing Inequality, (11) Sustainable Cities and Communities, (12) Responsible Consumption and Production, (13) Climate Action, (14) Life Below Water, (15) Life On Land, (16) Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, (17) Partnerships for the Goals.



In conclusion, in the first lecture where we were introduced what are the SDGs with details and raise our awareness on how importance is the SDGs. For me, personally I think that, these goals are created to make sure the livings on the earth will not suffer in the future. Human are the most responsible to make sure these goals achieved. Its because whatever we do today, affect largely on our environment.
